GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball squad rolled to a 3-0 victory over visiting Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Grove City College in their 2011 home opener Tuesday evening at Beeghly Gymnasium.
Thiel (6-5, 2-1) posted game wins of 25-17, 25-17, and 25-21.
Alyssa Chine (North Jackson, Ohio/Jackson-Milton ) tallied 14 kills and seven digs to pace the homestanding Tomcats. Megan Kay (Girard, Ohio/Liberty) totaled 10 kills and a team-high 10 digs while Kelly Barzak (Warren, Ohio/Howland) recorded 10 kills and 2.5 blocks. Chelsea Meister (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) supplied 35 assists and five digs and Courtney Angelo (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) finished with eight digs from the libero spot.
The Tomcats are set to return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 21 when they travel to Thomas More College for a 7 p.m. match.
