PAC Releases its Preseason Coaches' Polls

The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) today released its 2010 preseason coaches' polls for baseball and softball. The Westminster baseball team is picked to finish sixth in the league while the Westminster softball team drew a third-place prediction.

The Titan baseball team finished sixth in the PAC last year with a 6-12 record and an overall mark of 15-25. The Titan softball team took fourth last year with a league record of 8-6 and an overall tally of 17-21-1.

Washington & Jefferson (61 voting points, 7 first-place votes) was picked to win the PAC baseball title, followed by Thomas More (54, 2), Thiel (41), Waynesburg (34), Grove City (27), Westminster (24) and Bethany (11) rounding out the predicted standings.

Thomas More (78, 8) is the favorite to win the PAC softball title, with Bethany (71, 2), Westminster (55), Washington & Jefferson (46), Grove City (43), Thiel (31), Waynesburg (23) and Chatham (13) following in the prediction order of finish.

The Titan baseball team, with a 3-6 record so far this season, is coached by Carmen Nocera in his eighth season. The Titan softball team is 2-8 this season and is coached by Jan Reddinger in her 14th year at Westminster.
