Two Westminster College baseball players earned recognition by the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) on the 2010 All-PAC Baseball Teams. Senior catcher Dan Argiro (New Castle, Pa./New Castle) and sophomore shortstop Steve Perrotta (New Castle, Pa./New Castle) were both voted to the second team.
Argiro led the Titans with a .375 batting average (48-128) and five home runs. Argiro and Perrotta tied for the team lead with 28 RBI. Defensively, Argiro led the PAC by catching 20 stealing base-runners in 37 attempts.
Perrotta batted .314 (38-121) and led the team with 12 doubles, 34 runs and a .437 on-base percentage. In the most recent NCAA and PAC statistical rankings (through May 9), Perrotta ranked 16th in NCAA Division III and first in the PAC with a school-record 28 stolen bases and 23rd in the nation with a PAC-best 0.72 stolen bases per game. Perrotta's six sacrifice flies ranked 25th in the NCAA and second in the PAC.
Westminster posted a 14-27 record and a 6-12 mark for fourth place in the PAC. The Titans qualified for the PAC tournament for the third time in the last four years.
