Former three-year starter (1997-99) for John Cooper at Ohio State, Rob Murphy has made a nitch for himself in Canada. The Cincinnati Moeller alum was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman in 2006 and 2007 as a member of the British Columbia Lions. Last year, Murphy was acquired by the Toronto Argonauts before the season began. Number 56 started all eighteen contests a year ago at his natural left tackle position for the Argos. Toronto opens the 2010 season on Canada Day tonight against the Stampeders at 10 p.m.
The BC Lions have had a familiar face rushing the passer year after year in Brent Johnson. The ten-year pro was drafted in the third round of the 2000 CFL Draft by the Lions. Johnson has accumulated 76 career quarterback sacks including five straight seasons with ten or more QB stops (2004-08). BC opens the campaign at Edmonton tomorrow at 10 p.m.
