Salinas Wins "Ohio vs. Canada"

Alejandro "Popo" Salinas continued his successful amateur career with a victory over Canada's Namah Daghir.

Salinas was the headliner of "Ohio vs. Canada" at St. Lucy's in Campbell. The event featured 11 amateur bouts, including seven local fighters.

The 17 year old will now compete in the USA Boxing national championships from Feb. 27 - March 3 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The winner of each division will advance to the Olympic trials later this year.
