Chris Koval (25-6) defeated James Porter at the "Destruction on the Diamond" event in Struthers Saturday night.
"I felt like I hit way too much, but I was shaking the cobwebs off as the rounds went on," explained Koval. "I only sparred 3 times to get in here. Like I said a hundred times, I lost 70 pounds. I figured that was the toughest part. I figured why not, I fought James before."
The Youngstown native was a winner by decision. The three judges scored the bout 39-37, 39-37, and 38-38.
