The 4th annual Bob Roth Memorial boxing show is taking place the day before Thanksgiving.

Amateur champion and Youngstown native Popo Salinas will headline the card featuring 14 bouts.

At 16 years old, Popo will enter the 2012 season as the number one ranked amateur in the country in his weight class after winning the PAL title in October.

"Popo's the kind of kid...he's the first one in and the last one to leave," explained Jack Loew, South Side Boxing Club. "Even some of the older kids watch him work out in the background. He's kinda like that Kelly Pavlik mode where he does crazy things in the gym even at such a young age, so he's a well conditioned kid. He works hard at it. He's put his time in, so I think it's his time to shine."

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at St. Lucy's in Campbell. You can call the South Side Boxing club for tickets.
